Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh--- Psy-Changeling #0.5
--What are the Issues--
When DarkRiver leopard Sentinel, Nate, realized that Tammy was his mate, he didn't want to pressure her. She was 10 years younger and just coming into herself so he backed off and insisted that Tammy go to medical school like she always planned. But now Tammy is back and she's tired of waiting for Nate to finish the mating dance.

--What I Liked and Didn't Liked--
Even though this was a short novella I am always impressed by the amount of plot and emotion that Nalini Singh can put into a book. This is a great simple introduction to the Psy-Changeling world or in my case a fantastic look back at a couple we know and love. I thought it was great to see how Tammy and Nate started; they are such a solid pair in the series and it was nice to see that just like everyone else, they had to work for their mating. Tammy is so self-assured in the later books, it was very cute to see her just starting to grow into the woman she would become. Nate was a little annoying sometimes and I might have wanted to hit him over the head a few times but he comes around.

Stroke of Enticement by Nalini Singh --- Psy-Changeling #3.5
--What are the Issues--
When Zach shows up for a parent-teacher meeting for his nephew, he's surprised to discover that the sweet human teacher is his mate. But Annie doesn't want to be coddled or protected -- she's had enough of that from her mother ever since she was injured in a freak train accident. Now Zach has to prove that he sees Annie as a strong, independent woman.

--What I Liked and Didn't Like--
I love how Singh can put so much into a novella; she's a truly gifted writer. I loved how affectionate Zach was with Annie! We've seen how the changelings interact with each other and those they care about but there was something special about this one; maybe it was because Annie needed that affection so much. This one was short but really sweet!

Declaration of Courtship by Nalini Singh --- Psy-Changeling #9.5
--What are the Issues--
SnowDancer Lieutenant Cooper knows that Grace is his mate but there's one problem -- they're on opposite sides of the dominance/submissive spectrum. Grace might be a submissive wolf but she still knows what she wants, now she just needs to convince her wolf she'll be safe with Cooper.

--What I Liked and Didn't Like--
I really enjoyed this one because it was so interesting to see the inner dynamics of the human/changeling balance. The human side of Grace trusts Cooper but the wolf side of her sees a dominant that she has to obey. I liked how sweet Cooper was with Grace and how careful he was in the beginning to make sure Grace was with him the whole way. I also liked that Grace, though a submissive, still has a lot of spine and isn't afraid to call Cooper out when needed. I do wish there was more build up to Grace's wolf's trust in Cooper. Granted it's a novella so there's only so many pages, but there was a great tension going between them and it's suddenly figured out.

Texture of Intimacy by Nalini Singh --- Psy-Changeling #10.5
--What are the Issues--
Lara is a Changeling and she's grown up with expectations about what a mated couple is like. But Walker is a Psy and he doesn't react the way Changelings do and he's not used to sharing what he's feeling. Walker spent so long under Silence, keeping everything locked away that he's worried he'll disappoint Lara.

--What I Liked and Didn’t Liked--
After the crazy events at the ending of Kiss of Snow this novella was a great follow up to show the quieter times after battle. It also gave us the opportunity to see more of Lara and Walker since they were a side relationship in the previous book. I've been intrigued by Walker from the very beginning so it was nice to learn more about his history and his life in the Net. This book really showed the risks and the magnitude of the sacrifices that the Lauren family made when they decided to defect from the PsyNet. Tammy is probably still my favorite Changeling healer but I enjoyed Lara as she has a very sweet, innocent, and gentle personality that helped Walker learn to trust. Toby and Marlee are also great additions to the story as they're both incredibly adorable and I loved how they welcomed Lara with open arms.

Another brilliant release from Nalini Singh. Since I first stumbled upon Slave to Sensation, I have been hooked on this story and the universe created by this incredibly talented writer.

Albeit, the first two novellas in this book are re-runs of previously published stories. I could have enjoyed another two short couple stories. But both the reruns are great stories, and I enjoyed reading them again.

The two new stories are both absolutely fabulous. The first, Declaration of Courtship takes us to one of the subsidiary Snow Dancer dens and tells us a beautiful lovestory of learning to trust despite the instincts basic in the animals.

The second new story is not new per se, but it gives us a deeper understanding and knowledge of the relationship between healer Lara and Walker Lauren, the telepathic Psy. Their mating dance was a small sideline in another, greater story, and we never got the full insight into the way things happened for those two. Now we have got it.

Thank you, Nalini Singh, and keep on writing of these people. I love every book. I just cannot wait for the next one.
I've decided to read this in chronological order with the novels of the series so I'm going to break this anthology down to mini reviews as I go along.

<b>Beat of Temptation #.5</b>
Tamsyn and Nate's story

Tammy is nineteen and Nate is older, but they know they are true mates. Unfortunately, Nate is convinced that Tammy needs more time before she is tied to him for life, but Tammy knows she is ready. Game on! Nate resists and Tammy conspires.

Frustrating yet fun dance of the mates. But loved it and loved getting the story of these two minor characters in the series.

<b>Stroke of Enticement #4.5</b>
Zach and Annie's Story

A schoolteacher determined to live independent and never get hurt by giving her heart is ambushed by a flirtatious and determined cat changling who knows the woman he is meant to be with when he sees her. Zach courts his skittish Annie and it was a fun and light romance for me.

<b> Declaration of Courtship #9.5 </b>
Cooper and Grace's Story

Cooper, a very in charge Snow Dancer pack Lieutenant in charge of a smaller den outside LA courts a timid submissive. Grace is attracted to Coop, but isn't sure such a difference in pack dominance rank will work until Cooper patiently courts both her human side and her timid wolf. I liked exploring such a relationship situation, but it does have its draggy moments for me.

<b> Texture of Intimacy #10.5 </b>
Walker and Lara's Story

Continuing the secondary romance thread from Kiss of Snow, this story is the early days of Walker the psy telepath and Lara the SnowDancer changling healer's mating. He is grateful for the new happiness he can now appreciate as he feels and accepts love and care of a mate, but both worry that he'll never be able to fully be able to break the change of his past. This felt like a long epilogue to Kiss of Snow because it wove in updates with so many of the Snow Dancer pack as they recover from the attack and I really enjoyed it since the other didn't have a long ending once the crisis was over and a bunch of stuff happened suddenly.

All in all, this was a fantastic collection and I loved getting all these secondary character romances. They are solid, well-developed novellas that add layers to the overall series.
