A waste of time. Characters are flawed. Plot is, of course, just like the original story in the bible except it is "modernized" to the hilt significantly lacking in substance. Speculative as purported but hardly close to believable as written, even in my imagination. Thinking about how the story ended, it looks to me like it was purposely written that way with the intent of creating interest for a sequel.
Good read, leaves you wanting more.

The Messiah is one of those books that you can't put down once you pick it up.
The message contained in this book is quite thought provoking. It is definitely a must read.
